C-TPAT is a supply chain security program that is administered by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). Eligible companies (Importers, NVOCC's , Customs Brokers, Cross-Border Highway Carriers) are required to have documented procedures addressing all aspects of their international supply chain. My company creates all their documentation and assists the client with training and implementation. U.S. Manufacturers are eligible for ITAR registration, which requires only an application and a fee. However, many ITAR registered companies are not in compliance because they do not have documented operating and security procedures and have not trained their employees or screened their vendors and clients.
