SBDCs/CDMYPEs in El Salvador
The implementation of the SBDC model in El Salvador started in 2009 with the participation of the Salvadorian government at the Organization of American States (OAS) and ASBDC annual conferences. Since then, the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) SBDC program advised the Government of El Salvador on how to adapt and adopt the SBDC model to the Salvadorian context. UTSA conducted 3 SBDC Counselor & Director Certificate Training Programs that graduated over 350 professionals.
To date, El Salvador has a network of 12 Micro and Small Business Development Centers (CDMYPE for its Spanish initials).
